Saturday, 16 July 2011, more than 20 people were united by a movie, Bridget Jones Diary, and we had a wonderful Movie Discussion and Role-play party at Jayfree Bar.

Emma, Pamela , Kirin, Jason and Gump arrived there before 3:30pm.  With their helps, we re-placed the tables and chairs in order to leave some space for performance.

The episodes about 35 minutes related to role-play were watched with laughing, imitating and talking. Some people liked the Song, ALL BY MYSELF, others fascinated Bridget's strong London accent. Boys felt a bit jealous because when Daniel Cleaver stared by Huge Grant first appeared on screen, some girls couldn't help themselves saying that they like him. Daniel Cleaver was a sophisticated playboy and he must have some competitive advantages to appeal girls.

The self-introduction session took about 15 minutes; all the newbies did that routine job to tell others their names, jobs, hobbies and one of favorite movies.  The names were as the following:

Rose and her friend --- sorry, I forget her name
Vivian( I’m Vivian)  I didn’t give her self-introduction time. She was smart  to do it during ACT1
Dana, Summery, Eva, Iceshi--also team leader of group 2,  a girl ---I forget her name, joined us by herself when she saw our party.Nancy, John

The time only for girls came, ACT1. This event was dedicated to all female attendees as they all imitated Bridget Jones's public speech for launch of best book in our time vividly. Like a variety is spicy of life, the creativity demonstrated by our girls was mighty impressive. Nancy and Iceshi brought us more laughing and scream by Nancy-edition and Iceshi-edition Bridget’s speech.  Meanwhile, Emma showed us her confidence and did it just as a real presentation with clear pronunciation and volume.

The ACT 2 started from Group3 as 薇Vivian from Group 1 kicked off ACT1.The roles were as the below:

Bridget Jones- Emma, Mark Darcy- Gump, Daniel Cleaver-Alex, Jude- I am Vivian, Shazzer- Jessica.

Emma did a great job and Alex imitated Daniel very well with his vivid facial expression.

Group 2: Bridget Jones-Iceshi, Mark Darcy-Kodiak, Daniel Cleaver-Jason, Jude-Dana, Shazzer-?. Kodiak and Jason were very active. It was impressive that  Jason could remember some lines by heart. Girls in this group showed friendship between women dramatically when they knocked the door and hugged  each other.

Group 3: Bridget Jones-薇Vivian, Mark Darcy- Tactoth, Daniel Cleaver-Kirin, Jude-Rose, Shazzer-Eva.

The youth group was set up very quickly and Kirin showed me his passion to learn and good communication skills impressively.   薇Vivian was very considerate when I suggested that she transfer from another group to this because we needed her to star Bridget. Keep up a good work, young guys, your English level will be higher  and higher.

Area to improve: If we had remembered the main lines by heart, our performance would have been much more smooth and interesting. So try to reduce the pauses next time by memorizing those lines.
